When you are up for the challenge of stalking feisty bonefish, a guide will take you and your partner to the shallows in a 16-foot skiff. You can spend hours casting into schools of bonefish, visible below you. Although they typically weigh between three and ten pounds, they are, pound for pound, the strongest fighting fish in the world!

At the Cape, inland waters provide the best in bonefishing, while off shore, great reef fishing and deep sea fishing await. Bait, tackle and wading boots are provided. The experience of our professional guides is invaluable to novices and avid anglers alike. At Cape Santa Maria Beach Resort we encourage catch-and-release fishing.

For a deep sea adventure, charters are available for private seven hour cruises with professional guides. Using ballyhoo, small bait fish and feather hoochies, you can fish for trophy-sized beauties like white and blue marlin, kingfish, wahoo, shark, tuna, grouper, dorado, barracuda and sailfish.

A seven-hour reef fishing excursion puts you where the sport bottom fish are. From a 26-foot cruiser, you'll admire vast coral and rock reefs as your bait attracts barracuda, grouper, yellow-tail snapper, horseye jacks, amberjacks, king mackerel and tuna.

Colonial style villas and seaside gazebos nestled on the beach envelope you in comfort and beauty. Each villa has a screened veranda, with a ceiling fan to keep the trade winds circulating. The spacious, air-conditioned bedroom features colourful decor, cool marble floors, and a tiled dressing area and bathroom. You won't find a television, radio, telephone, or anything else in your villa to remind you of the bustle of everyday life.

In addition to the great fishing, you can also spend your days relaxing in the sun or exploring and playing in the warm turquoise water. Take a stroll along four miles of sugary-white sand, considered one of the top ten beaches in the world. Explore fascinating caves and gorgeous bays. Sail on calm waters, scuba dive, swim, beachcomb.
