Mention the Bahamas and most people picture beautiful hotels, casinos and the clear beautiful water, but to the bonefisherman these amenities are only a part of the pleasure of the Bahamas. Pictrure small islands in the Abacos dotted with lodges particularly adapted to the passion of fishing, stalking bonefish on the flats, the graceful motions of casting the fly, the take, the adrenaline-dazed angler clearing line, and the unmistakable sound of backing being stripped from a helpless reel.

The Bahamas is famous for its bountiful bonefishing, but there are also many other species available including permit, tarpon, barracuda, sharks, grouper and snapper. You can fish the flats all day and never see another boat. A catch of 15-20 fish daily is not uncommon.

Treasure Cay Hotel Resort & Marina is a 1,500 acre beach resort located on the Bahamas Out Island of Abaco, less than 200 miles and a one hour flight from the Florida coast.




The waterfront Peace & Plenty Bonefish Lodge (geared to bonefishing aficionados) is poised on a small peninsula at the southern tip of Great Exuma, right before the bridge to Little Exuma. It was opened in 1995 and is approximately ten miles south of George Town.
